Holy Marriage on Early Christian Sarcophagi

Same Sex Marriage in Early Christian Sarcophagi from Ally Kateusz

Catacomb sarcophagi of married couples tell a different story than what we have been taught. Early Christian views on marriage are commemorated in stone. Art often tells an older story. Catacomb art in Rome in particular was preserved for over a thousand years before its rediscovery in the late sixteenth century. Here we see a Christian couple portrayed in the same pose as other Christian couples.  This was holy marriage in early Christianity.
